How can I join your team?

We are just getting started and envision this movement spreading quickly. We are always interested in hearing from qualified, dedicated, ambitious, and responsible people who are interested in joining our team. If you have any questions, or would like to help organize an event, you may contact us here (link to contact form). Please go to our contact page for information on employment or volunteer opportunities. Please feel free to contact us if you want to help spread our message, become involved in organizing events, or if you have expertise in PR, sales, marketing, social media, or licensing. Please also contact us if you want to form a Discrimination Free Zone for your organization, company, restaurant, team, club, charitable organization, or any other group with which you are involved.

What is a Discrimination Free Zone?

Discrimination Free Zone was created to reinforce the message that discrimination is offensive and that those who “take the pledge” will not participate in actions that are discriminatory against others based on race, color, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.  The creation of “Discrimination Free Zones” will help put an end to discrimination, prejudice and intolerance.

By taking our pledge on your Facebook or Twitter page, you’re stating that you will not discriminate against any individual or group based on race, color, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability, and you inform others that you will be offended by such actions.  With each new Discrimination Free Zone, we come closer to ending hate, damaging judgments and harmful actions that follow from these negative sentiments. Together we can foster an environment consisting of unity, equality and acceptance for everyone.

How is a Discrimination Free Zone created?

There are three ways in which you can form a Discrimination Free Zone:

1. Take the pledge and share it on your own social media pages. By announcing to your social network that you have taken the pledge, you have created your own Discrimination Free Zone.

2. Wear or display any Discrimination Free Apparel in your home, business or community; it promotes the message everywhere you go.

3. Unite relatives, friends, classmates, co-workers, teammates, or any other groups of people and encourage them to take a stand, together. The Zone is created when everyone in your group wears or displays Discrimination Free Zone apparel or displays a poster. We encourage individuals and groups to send us photos of their Discrimination Free Zones so that we may post them on our website for the world to see.

What is the Discrimination Free Zone Pledge?

“I pledge not to discriminate against others because they are different from me. Join the movement.” #dfreezone

Once you have taken the pledge on your facebook or twitter page you have created your own Discrimination Free Zone, thereby announcing to the people in your social circle that you will not discriminate against any individual or group based on race, color, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability, and you inform others that you will be offended by discriminatory actions.

How does the Foundation obtain its funds to promote awareness, education and training?

The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation relies on donations from individuals and organizations and also relies on proceeds from the sale of Discrimination Free Zone items to be able to fulfill its mission.  The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation, which is a non-profit organization created to end discrimination and raise awareness about discrimination, is a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Organization.  Through the Discrimination Free Zone website, social media and educational and community outreach programs, we hope to shed light on the practice of prejudgment and discrimination of individuals and groups based on race, color, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Why did you develop Discrimination Free Zone?

We are doing this because somebody had to!  Our Founder, Tali Raphaely,  is a motivational speaker and published self-help author, and has encouraged countless people to believe in themselves in order to create greater, more fulfilling lives. His inspirational lessons urge individuals to overcome self-doubt and instill a passion into everything they do.  He himself has been the target of ethnic slurs and decided he could no longer sit idle while the damaging presence of discriminatory language remains so prevalent in our world.  He decided he had to take action to stand up to this great social harm.  We have made great strides in increasing awareness of the harmful effects of discriminatory language, but there is still a lot to be done. Therefore, we are taking action to end discriminatory language against any individual or group based on race, color, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Exactly who and where does the money you raise go to?

The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non profit organization.  ALL of the money we raise goes directly to funding the mission and operations of the Foundation, so you can rest assured your money goes directly to a good and very important cause.  The goal of the Foundation is to end discrimination by promoting awareness to the public, especially to schools and community organizations, concerning the harmful effects of discrimination.  We raise money so that we can donate Discrimination Free Zone shirts, hats, wristbands, posters and stickers especially to school kids so that the message of ending discrimination hopefully reaches the children at a young age before other harmful attitudes towards others take root instead.  The Foundation also aims to train and educate children, parents, educators and society as a whole as to how to eradicate the damaging sentiments and attitudes that contribute to discrimination.  Additionally, the Foundation works to establish Discrimination Free Zones everywhere.  With each new Discrimination Free Zone, we come closer to ending discrimination, bias and prejudice, thereby eliminating the damaging judgments and harmful actions that can be involved with such negative sentiments.
